Walailak Abode of Culture , Walailak University have a plan for the implementation of the project “Nakhon Mueang Phra” is an ongoing project from 2020 to 2022. The “Nakhon Mueang Phra” project aims to study information on religious sites, people, religious objects, religious ceremonies, Buddhist community. tradition and culture including various legends related to Buddhism in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and be linked to the history of the city which will lead to the preservation of arts and culture history and religion to create a historical database in the form of modern media and easy to access information and responding to the policies of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province “Nakhon Si Thammarat City of Civilization”

In the year 2020, Walailak Abode of Culture conducted a survey of ancient temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat province Initially, there was a survey of both documents and people. as well as collecting images of traces of history that are still left for future generations to learn In selecting ancient temples, the criteria of the temple’s establishment will be used as the starting point for collecting spatial data. There are 9 temples that have been surveyed, and there are plans to explore another 20 temples.

  •  Khao Khun  Phanom temple, Phrom Khiri District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1787 B.E.
  • Yai temple, Phrom Khiri District, Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat, built in 1830 B.E.
  • Daeng temple, Chian Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1800 B.E.
  • Phra Phutthabat temple, Chian Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1850 B.E.
  • Distwararam temple, Cha-uat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1924 B.E.
  • Khemaram temple, Cha Uat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1900 B.E.
  • Manao Wan temple, Chang Klang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 2227 B.E.
  • Phu Khao Lak temple, Thung Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1320 B.E.
  • Mai temple, Thung Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, built in 1800 B.E.
